Thank you all for your considered thoughts on the PBS Video Database. It will help me a lot to know how each of you use the database when I bring the PBS sales guy into the library, here, to pitch it to our subject selectors. It seems to me to have a lot of potential in helping users, and my staff, when they try to locate precise video segments that cover particular themes, images, events etc. I'm not sure how many of our faculty will exploit all of the additional curricular material and maybe that's where the user education and training is most important. The PBS guy here told me he will assist faculty training for one year, if we subscribe. If he's good, it could really ease the burden on my staff.
Anyway, thanks again, all, and especially Jim Scholtz for his generosity with his time in responding to my initial request and all of the follow up.
