New EBOOKS-L mail list!

In response to the growing number of messages on library-related
mailing lists regarding the acquisition and usage of electronic books,
I've decided to start a list solely for the discussion of ebooks-related
topics. Here at the University of Southern California, we've had
electronic books from an online vendor (netLibrary) for almost a year
now. I'm hoping a mailing list will facilitate the sharing of information
on the acquisition, implementation and usage of ebooks by libraries and
information centers. Lots of librarians are asking questions about ebooks
ranging from the practical to the philosophical, and there are lots of
angles to explore. Please consider subscribing to EBOOKS-L to share your
experience collecting ebooks, to ask questions, or just to hear what other
librarians are thinking about the topic.

To subscribe, please send a message to with the following
text in the message body:

SUBSCRIBE EBOOKS-L <yourfirstname> <yourlastname>

Anyone is welcome to subscribe, but I will moderate the list to avoid
adverisements being posted. Please direct any questions or comments
regarding this list to me. Thank you!
