RE: Interfiling Video Genres

We are one of the few libraries in our area to lend videos and media
through ILL and our regional consortia. In order to make sure faculty have
the videos when they want them, I ask faculty to give me a list of videos
they want at the beginning of each term. I then pull those videos, put a
note on it with their name and the showdate(s), and check it out to a
"Waiting to be Shown" account. We place holds on the ones that are chacked
out when the request comes in. The item then appears in our online
catalog as checked out and unavailable for off-campus use. Just
circulating around our faculty is difficult enough, as we have two campuses
and several off-campus sites around the state!....

Of course we do sometimes have problems with last-minute requests which are
off-campus and unavailable, but I guess that is one of the hazards of
belonging to consortial lending groups.
