In a word - DVD's! This format is truly amazing in the wealth of options
it offers to library patrons. I'm currently in the process of cataloguing
our first DVD's and, if they offered nothing else, the variety of languages
would make them a necessary library purchase! I don't think it will be too
long before videos will go the way of 16mm in library collections. I would
urge your patron to invest in a DVD player, or possibly rent one, so he or
she can sample a wide variety of films dubbed in French. Lady and the
Tramp to Dr. Strangelove! Now, if I only spoke French.
