I have to say, as someone who has had more obsession than room, I have a
fondness for the hard copy and have a collection of film catalogs that go
back to the 1960s. (This is why we bought a house last month with a separate
carriage house/library for all this "stuff")

If nothing else, there has been great writing and info on films in the old
catalogs such as Audio-Brandon, Contemporary, and MacMillan and provides good
quotes and ideas.

It's what also helped me have an expertise on where so many
out-of-distribution feature films have fallen through the cracks -- and
inspires our acquisitions like The Sorrow and the Pity and The Mystery of
Picasso. The old catalogs help lead me to the current owners. Websites just
can't do that.

Of course, this is only for the maniacal at heart and anyone else can just
call me and I'll look it up for them...
