We've had metal shelving for over 20 years. Never have I heard
this argument for not having metal shelving.

Subject: VHS on metal shelving?

Hi, all - we're in the process of planning a move to
new quarters, and the powers that be are planning to
give us metal shelving for a good portion of our VHS
collection. Now some ten or so years ago, we were
informed that metal shelving was *bad* for magnetic
materials and we fought to have all our shelving
changed to wood. It seems we must do this all over
again - but they want some proof or documentation.
Anybody got any ammunition for us? Thanks!
