Well, Public Library Videolibbers, the discussion about DVD and date due
slips made me think it was time to pass on the results of my highly
scientific study of market penetration and DVD. My husband, Mr. Technology,
received a DVD player from Santa Claus. Now Santa, not being too technically
savvy himself, allowed Mr. Technology to pick out his own player. So, we
trooped off to Best Buy (urban Chicago branch) right after Christmas. The
week before Christmas this same store had piles of boxes containing DVD's--8
different models. Two days after Christmas this is how many were left -- 0
(except for the $799 model).
People keep asking me when I think they should start purchasing DVD (I know
many of you are doing it already). I think Best Buy has given us the answer.
