Projector Use

Starting | Shutting Down | Troubleshooting | Replacing the Bulb

To start up the projector:

  • Remove the lens cap.
  • Press the power button on the top of the projector.
To shut down the projector:
  • Press the power button on the top of the projector.
  • A message will display on the screen "do you want to turn the projector off"?
  • Hit the power button once more to confirm and turn the projector off.
  • Press any other projector button to cancel the shut down command.
  • Replace the lens cap.

To adjust the projected image:

  • Use the rings on the projector lens to adjust the image's focus & width:
    - The outer ring focuses the projected image.
    - The inner ring changes the width of the projected image.

Troubleshooting:

1. The projector is on but isn't displaying the instructor PC's desktop.

  • Check to be sure that you've removed the lens cap from the projector. As the lens caps is transparent, you will still see an image if the lens cap is on, but it will be blurred.

2. The projected image is not in focus or is too big or too small.

  • Try using the rings on the projector lens to resize & refocus the image, or
see the section below: "Aligning the projector with the TeamBoard".

3. If the projector is not as bright as usual, the bulb may need to be replaced.

  • Please call one of the following people for help replacing the bulb: Joe Barker (3-1636) or Sarah McDaniel (2-1580).

TeamBoard

Using the TeamBoard:

1. See our how-to guides for information on how to use the TeamBoard
These guides can also be found in the classroom, in the bottom drawer of the projector cabinet.

1. The Team Board is not responding to the stylus or your touch, or the on-screen "pointer" appears a few inches away from the actual stylus/pointing device.
The TeamBoard needs interactive calibration.

2. Aligning the projector with the TeamBoard:
The projector & TeamBoard need to be at an optimum distance from each other to work properly. Use the pink tape marks to align the projector & the TeamBoard.

  • The projector cabinet should be centered between the pink tape on the floor.
  • The projector itself should be centered between the pink tape on top
  • of the projector cabinet.
  • The TeamBoard should be centered in the pink tape around each of its "legs".
