Affiliates from Other UC campuses


Since the "Salmon plan" was issued in 1977, the UC library system has been viewed as a single organization, with a library mandate to provide all UC faculty and students with the same privileges irrespective of their primary campus affiliation.

Faculty from other UC campuses:
Gets same privileges as UCB faculty. Eligibility determined at Privileges Desk by looking person up in systemwide phone directory; a letter from their sponsoring department will do for 1 academic year if they missed inclusion in the directory.
yellow 03; free. Eligible for spouse/domestic partner card; not eligible for proxy card nor for Research Library Cooperative Program.

Staff from other UC campuses:
Staff from other UC campuses are eligible for library services based on the terms of their employment. Refer questions to Privileges Desk in Doe Library.

Registered students from other UC campuses:
Gets same privileges as UCB student. Eligibility determined at Privileges Desk based on proof of current registration (e.g. reg card). Privileges Desk issues a UCB librarycard.
doctoral and masters students: yellow 02; free
undergrads: yellow 01; free.

Temporarily unregistered students from other UC campuses:
Gets same privileges as UCB student. Eligibility determined at Privileges Desk. Student must present a letter from their academic department indicating that they are on withdrawn or filing status and are a student in good standing with the department. Studen t pays student card fee: $25/6 months or $50/year. (Note: these UC unregistered students pay the same fee as, for example, a CSU student, but get full rather than restricted privileges)
doctoral and masters students: yellow 02; $25/6months
undergrads: yellow 01; $25/6months
