Introduction
The Library has special agreements with various constituent groups to provide library privileges. Depending on the terms of the agreement, services may be provided for a fee; at reduced cost or at no cost. All agreements are predicated on a special affiliation with the campus; an agreement by an institution to provide reciprocal library privileges to UCB personnel; and/or a contract for fees in exchange for library services. The Library is also mandated by the state to provide services to some groups.
Brief documentation of many of our special agreements follows, below. Application for library privileges must be made at the Library Privileges Desk, Level A, Main Stacks. Privileges Desk hours are: Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 4:45 p.m; Saturday 1 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. except
during the summer when the desk is closed on Saturday. Not all categories of borrowers are mentioned in this brief guide. If you are serving a patron who does not fall into one of the categories below, or if you have more detailed questions on the terms o
f any of our special agreements, contact the Library Privileges Desk, (510) 642-6647.
