Please see the table of GLADIS circulation codes by borrower type for a comprehensive array of circcodes available.
The length of time a patron may borrow an item is determined by the circulation code. The assignment of a circulation code depends on the type of material being circulated, the patron's borrowing privileges, and the loan policies of the owning unit. These codes can be changed as needed by using the "set circ" command.
Each item in GLADIS has a circulation code, or "circcode" which represents its loan period. Circcodes are determined by each library unit, depending on whether or not the item is a monograph, a journal, a reading for reserve, a homework solution, etc. Library units may decide to circulate some materials to certain categories of borrowers for longer periods than other categories of borrowers, and circcodes can be chosen to reflect that decision. Circcodes are displayed on the detail screen in Autocirc, in the last position of each holding.
