Creating Automated Circulation Notes

A circulation note can be placed in a record only at the time the item is being charged out to a patron. It will appear in AutoCirc, but not in the public record. The note will be highlighted on the discharge screen at the time of discharge and will disappear from the record at that time. It is the only notation that can be placed in a record from the AutoCirc screen and can be placed by any level of logon. In Maintenance it will be noted as an "*n".

• At Charge Screen wand patron's I.D.
  
  
• Once the patron's information appears at the top of the screen, key "note", then wand the item's barcode.
  
  
• Key any message that needs to follow item until it is next discharged.
  • Examples:
    • "Give to supervisor when returned"
    • "Patron checked out bk for friend"
  
  
• Press enter to conclude transaction.
