1. ANNOUNCEMENTS

   A. C Baz requested that course abbreviations for new courses
in the official Course Abbreviation list for AutoReserves be
brought up for discussion at the May CSG meeting. It was
agreed that this was important in preparation for Fall
semester.

   B. S Williams reminded the group that on Mondays, circulation
notices and cards are available for pick-up at 1:00PM at the
earliest. Other weekdays they are available after 10:00AM.

2. SYSTEMS REPORT

   A. COMMENT A quick fix was done to get users out of a comment
loop and to re-establish the inventory display following a
comment. This was discovered from a report by a user via GLADIS
comment that making a comment from the new inventory screen would
get you into an endless loop. (You were continuously prompted to
send or cancel your comment).

   B. COURSE TITLE SCREEN MISSING/BILLED INFORMATION. Penny
discovered that charge information was not displaying on the
course title screen for charged items which had reached the
billing stage. She fixed it so they now display in the same way
that charges (not yet billed) and recalled items display.

   C. GRACE PERIODS FOR ITEMS ON RESERVE. It was discovered that
items on reserve were not always getting the grace period of the
reserve unit. Penny temporarily fixed this by giving MAIN a
grace period for 2 hour items. The problem was then corrected in
the Charge module and notice programs. Discharge and by line
functions were already working correctly.

   D. SORTING BY LOCATION ON PRINTED INVENTORY. The notice
program was treating the special reserve locations, eg UNDE-O, as
a separate location, so that on the printed inventory these items
would not intersort with items that belong or on reserve from
that location. This was corrected.

   E. POTENTIAL BILL CANCELLATION BUG. Penny has been getting
reports from various units that there have been a fair number of
bill cancellations for items that don't appear to have been
billed. Penny hasn't been able to track down the source of the
problem. Notice programs do produce a bill cancellation in
certain circumstances. (When an item is discharged between the
time the bill was slated to be produced but before the database
has been updated.) Perhaps there is some circumstance where a
bill cancellation is being automatically produced in error.
Penny added a code to have it write the circ record from which
the cancellation is being produced to a special file, so she can
see if she can figure it out this way.

    F. MESSAGE AFTER RENEWAL ON INVENTORY SCREEN. At PSAG-PS's
request an additional message was added when an item is renewed
successfully, or when there is an unsuccessful attempt at
renewal. In a 3 line message at the bottom of the inventory
screen there is now a line inviting the patron to clear the
screen when finished renewing by typing "F".

3. FORGERY CLAIMS. A Bourgeois will bring the form that they
have developed in CHEM to the next meeting for further
discussion.

4. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, May 16 at 10:30 AM.
