1. Read results of the confidential online survey (handouts at meeting)

After last week's Cabinet meeting, each Cabinet member received an online
survey regarding library priorities, to which each responded
confidentially. Results were shared with Cabinet.

2. Discuss options on how to proceed --Bernie Hurley

Prior to today's meeting Bernie Hurley and Susan Wong met with Katherine
Mitchell to review the online survey results and discuss options for how
best to proceed. Cabinet decided to address the common themes today (March
6) and next week (March 13) and schedule a 3-hour working meeting (March
20) for scenario planning.

3. Continuing discussion at 2pm on budget reduction planning
--Katherine Mitchell, COrE
facilitator

On February 28, Cabinet convened an extended working session facilitated by
Katherine Mitchell. In preparation for that meeting, Cabinet members were
asked to imagine what the future library would look like in relation to
these five areas: services, functions, patrons, emerging disciplines, and
workforce. Individuals briefly shared their visions and a number of common
themes were identified for further development. At today's meeting, Cabinet
began working on these common themes, drafting language to define each
theme. The discussion will continue on March 13.

4. Revise budget planning timeline --Susan Wong

The March 20 extended Cabinet session was added to the Draft Timeline for
Budget Reduction/Change Initiative. The Roundtable Plus retreat formerly
envisioned for mid-March is now planned for the regular Roundtable date of
April 10. It may be necessary as well to schedule a post-retreat Cabinet
session. The all staff Early Bird is still planned for some time in May.
Susan will make these adjustments to the draft timeline for budget planning.
