A manually circulated item is
billed

Manually circulated items, as well as fines and re-binding charges, are all
billed on CARS using the GLADIS manual Billing Module

When item becomes billable, unit checks to see if the
borrower has a GLADIS patron record. If not, one
must be requested from the Service Desk before billing.

Item is billed on the GLADIS Billing module. GLADIS
will notify CARS of the bill and will add a $10
processing charge if the patron is not an 03 borrower.
GLADIS also autoblocks the patron.
When manually billing an item, GLADIS will add the "checked out - billed" information to the item's record if one exists with the barcode already in the system. Bill info will also appear in the patron's inven tory.

If an item does not have a GLADIS record with a barcode in the V/C, GLADIS will create an X-level record and add the "checked out - billed" info there and to the patron's inventory.
¦¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 75;¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¦
 If item is returned, the bill is cancelled by pulling 
up the patron's inventory and issuing the DC or
DCF command. DCF requires a Supervisor
logon and cancels both replacement and
processing charges.
  
 If item is paid, CARS will notify GLADIS 
and the paid info will be reflected in the
patron's inventory, and the patron
unblocked if appropriate.

Patron is unblocked when either the DC or DCF
command is issued and no other items are causing
the block.
  
If item remains paid, a "Paid on CARS"
notice is produced and sent to unit 30 days
later. Refer to "A billed item is paid for"
flow chart.

When both replacement and processing charges
are cancelled, the item will no longer appear in the
patron's inventory. If only the replacement charge
is cancelled, the processing charge info remains in
the patron in ventory until 30 days after it's been
paid.
