Pull Slips
Pull slips are printed lists of items which the INNOPAC system considers due for
binding based on the UNIT OF BINDING and the BINDING DELAY fields in the card
parameters. Units may use this feature to assist them in selecting and pulling
material for binding. For each bindable group of issues, a separate pull-slip
is printed. Pull-slips are printed on the unit's local printer using standard
form-feed/laser printer paper. Data on the checkin record and card can be viewed,
but cannot be edited, via the pull-slip program.
Generating branch pull-slips is a 3-step process:
- Create a Boolean review file consisting only of titles for your shelving
location.
- Run the pull-slip program of the binding module against the Boolean review
file to identify and print pull-slips for titles due for binding. Print the
pull-slips as you go (rather than opting to review or print later, which would
send your title to a single transaction file shared by other shelving locations).
- Delete the Boolean review file.
See procedure A, B, C below.
Creating a Boolean Review File

R <Checkin RECORD>
Set the parameters to retrieve records for your shelving location:
06 <LOCATION> = [your shelving location] (It is not necessary
to exclude categories such as Comes
bound, Current only or Call # Varies titles from your Boolean file since
the pull slip program will
automatically skip over these titles if the UNIT OF BINDING was correctly
coded as 0.)
S <START search>
Name your file:
e.g., save til 2/20/93 DJ/PUBL PULL-SLIPS
Begin your file name with "save til [date], [your initials] and the provide a
BRIEF DESCRIPTION of the file. The "save til" date should be realistic; do not
tie up files needlessly.
When "BOOLEAN SEARCH COMPLETE":
Press <space> to continue Hit Q <QUIT> 3 times to return to the INNOPAC
main menu

Select your Boolean review file.

<Do you want to print pull-slips now?> Y
The checkin card for the first title that has one or more bindable units will
then display on the screen. The system will prompt you to print a pull slip

e.g., Print pull slip for boxes 5 to 6
If you want to print a pull slip for the binding unit for which you are being

When you reach the end of the review file:
