panoramas mounted on cloth, many photographs of Alaskan scenes,
mining sites and glaciers. Many photos related to the Harriman-Alaska
Expedition of 1899 including expedition equipment are also present.
Many Alaskan Indians are pictured (villages, inhabitants) as well as
many examples of totem poles. Also present is a portrait captioned
"old man John, Clickatat Chief [sic] around 90 years old" by Joseph
Buchtel of Portland, Oregon. Alaskan locations include Fort Wrangle,
Howkan, and Yukon. Other west coast locations include British
Columbia (Canada), Washington state, Crater Lake (Oregon?, Alaska?)
and various California locations (Bodega Bay, Mono Lake). Photos of
San Diego include WWI planes in formation (1918) and mission views.
Photographers also include Curtis (Alaska) and La Roche Photo
(Seattle). A few photos of John Muir are also present.
