The main issues for this inaugural meeting were to select a Chair and
representatives to the function Councils (Public Services, Technical
Services, Administrative Services, Collections) and to build an agenda for
future Humanities Council meetings. Function councils, comprised in part
of representatives chosen by the subject councils, will participate in the
interview process for the AUL candidates.
The group discussed various issues pertaining to the Humanities Council's
identity and operating rules, including the desirability of creating a
charge, council membership, voting methodology and clarification of parts
of the "Launching the councils" document.
