What's NewAdnan Malik has joined the SSEA staff. He was formerly South Asia curator at Cornell University (for more about his background, read this brief biography). An expert in Pakistani Urdu-language collections, Adnan's first initiative will be a large Urdu-language digital and print acquisition project at Berkeley. He is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Panjabi/Gurmukhi and Siraiki, and has working knowledge of seven additional South Asian languages. Please stop by the library to welcome Adnan to Berkeley; he is usually at SSEA Monday through Wednesday, and spends the rest of the week cataloging South Asian materials. You can also reach him via email. |
