SSEAL includes an extensive reference collection of bibliographies, indexes, dictionaries, atlases, directories, statistical annuals and core works, as well as current issues of high-use periodicals. The rest of the South Asia and Southeast Asia collection, over 600,000 titles, is housed in the Main Stacks and the subject specialty libraries on the Berkeley campus.

South Asian Resources include material from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Southeast Asian Resources include material from Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar/Burma, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Reference Collection

The Reference Collection offers a comprehensive print collection of bibliographies, periodical indexes, dictionaries, atlases, biographical works, directories, statistical annuals, and national bibliographies for use in the library, as well as a collection of basic books on South and Southeast Asian culture, history, economics and development, literature and language, religion and philosophy, politics, travel, and other topics.

The collection is "Library Use Only." A copy machine which operates by copy card is available in the library for public use. Copy cards are available at the Library Copy Service and also in the Circulation Department on the first floor of Doe Library.

Serials Collection

The Serials Collection includes recent, unbound issues of high-use magazines and weekly newspapers from South Asia and Southeast Asia or dealing with those geographic areas. These unbound issues are for "Library Use Only". Bound issues of the periodicals are shelved in the Main Stacks.
