| MARGARET CHUNG COLLECTION The first Chinese American woman physician (1916), Margaret Chung was a patriot and was actively involved in the war effort on behalf of China and the United States during World War II. She was also a patron of the arts, a lover of humanity, and "mom" to over a thousand American aviators. She was born and raised in California. Edwar Lee was born in San Francisco on October 1, 1902. After a formal education in the School of Religion and his ordination, he served as pastor for various Chinese Christian churches in Northern California and specifically, the Oakland Chinese United Methodist Church from 1938 to 1970.
