If you don't find the title you want searching Pathfinder, or MelWeb try using one of the large union databases. WCAT: WorldCat on the MELVYL® System. includes over 30 million records for materials in all formats. To access WCAT go to Melvyl and type"wcat" at the search prompt. Another large union database is RCAT: The RLIN Bibliographic Database on MELVYL®. To use RCAT go to Melvyl and type "rcat"at the search prompt. WCAT and RCAT include most of the library holdings in the U.S. though some libraries have not yet completed putting all their South Asia material into online catalogs.
You can also search the British Library catalog or try searching the catalogs of other libraries outside the U.S. with major South Asia collections.
Two databases index significant numbers of articles on South Asia.
South Asia Journals Indexed by BAS 1972-
This on-line version of the Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS) contains more than 410,000 records on all subjects (especially humanities and social sciences) pertaining to East, Southeast, and South Asia published worldwide from 1971 to the present. Through the 1991 printed version, the BAS included citations to western-language periodical articles, individually authored monographs, chapters in edited volumes, conference proceedings, anthologies, and Festschriften, etc. Since 1992, newly published individual monographs are no longer being added to the database since these can be easily located through online catalogs. For material published prior to 1971 consult the print version of BAS.

South Asia Journals indexed by Uncover
UnCover is a database of current article information taken from well over 17,000 multidisciplinary journals. UnCover contains brief descriptive information for over 7,000,000 articles which have appeared since Fall 1988. Participating libraries enter the table of contents information from their serials into the UnCover database. Because the University of Hawaii subscribes to a number of journals from South Asia and also participated in UnCover the database is a good resource for locating articles in South Asian journals.
