Finding books or journals
If you aren't yet familiar with the Library and the services it offers, take a look at the

To find books and journals at UC Berkeley, use one of our online catalogs. To find
materials only at Berkeley, use Pathfinder.
If you want to search the entire UC system, use either telnet
Melvyl or web Melvyl. Here is a list of standard Library
of Congress subject headings on social movements to help get you started. Add the
country or group you are interested in to make them more specific.

Abstracts & Indexes. Most databases are restricted to UCB or UC
students, faculty, staff and on-campus users.

Press Index -- UCB Only
The most complete guide to North American alternative and radical
media, this includes citations of articles, reviews, speeches, editorials,
etc., since 1991. The print version of this index goes back to 1969 (it
can be found at HM101.A12 A55 Humanities/Area Studies, Main Library).
Bibliography
of Asian Studies -- UC Only
A very comprehensive database of academic publications (monographs, articles and
book chapters) in western languages on all parts of Asia published since 1971.
Historical
Abstracts -- UC Only
A bibliographic database containing citations to articles on the history
of the world from 1450 to the present, covering over 2,000 journals.
Indian Guide to Periodical Literature
-- PRINT ONLY
An excellent index of periodicals published in India in English
since 1964. Available in the South/Southeast Asia Library, AJ3.G9 Reference

MAGS
(Magazine and Journal Articles) - UC Only
Citations for articles from over 1,500 core academic journals and popular
magazines in the social sciences, humanities, sciences, business, and
law published since 1988. Contains some abstracts and some full-text.
Sociological
Abstracts -- UC Only
Citations from nearly 2000 academic sociology journals, books, book chapters,
and reviews published since 1963.
