The
library offers a convenient way to manage the books checked out to you.
Using the Inventory
and renewals step by step
2. Click on the "Renew Items" tab. At the login screen, enter your name, UCB ID number or library card number, and PIN. Your PIN will be month and day of your birthday (add a leading zero for single digit months or days). For instance, June 15 would be 0615. 3. The renewal screen will show you the titles of the items checked out to you and when they are due. You can also view the status of any books you have recalled and any that are awaiting your pickup. 4. Select the items you want to renew and click the appropriate renew button. That's all! If it's too soon to renew an item, OskiCat will tell you. Items checked out for one month must be renewed within 14 days of the due date. Six-month and one-year items must be renewed within 75 days of the due date. 5. Remember that items checked out for one year can be renewed three times before you will need to bring the item in and have it checked out again. All other items can be renewed up to 11 times before you need to bring it in. OskiCat will tell you how many times the item has been renewed. What can and can't be renewed online Most items can be renewed online. However, you cannot renew short-term books, including all 2-hour and same-day books. Those must be renewed in person. 1-day and all long-term books can be renewed online or by phone. You cannot renew recalled items, as someone else is waiting for them, and you must return them by the recall due date. However, you can place a recall yourself at the time you return the items, so that other borrower will need to return them within a week. Overdue books may be renewed online, but only if they have not caused a block on your borrowing privileges. If you are being blocked, or if you have been billed for the replacement of the overdue items, you must return them before you can renew anything online. All blocked or billed items must be returned to their respective libraries before you can check out or renew any other items. If you have questions or problems checking your inventory or renewing items, call the Social Welfare Library at (510) 642-4432. |
