Donating to the Social Welfare Library Thank you for considering a gift to our library. Over the years, the library and the campus have been enhanced immeasurably through the generosity of alumni, friends, and the community. Books and journals The library welcomes books or journals that augment or fill in our existing collection. Because our shelf space is limited, however, please be aware that we must carefully review all gifts for their usefulness. We cannot accept duplicates of titles already in our collection, outdated textbooks, or books in poor condition. We will accept issues of journals in our collection if they help complete our set. If you have questions about whether we may accept your material, please contact us. Please see the Gifts Program for more information about material donations to the library, including appraisals for tax purposes. If we are unable to accept your gift, we encourage you to consider donating your material to other libraries. Depending on the material, you might contact the Education-Psychology Library, Public Health Library, Doe/Moffit Library, or perhaps another library in the UC Library system. You may wish to contact the libraries at nearby schools with social work programs, include San Francisco State, San Jose State, and Cal State Sacramento. Public libraries, including those in Berkeley, Oakland, or Richmond, may also be able to use your material. Financial gifts To make a financial gift to our library, please contact the UC Library's Development Office, or see the many different ways of giving to the UC Library. Donations may be earmarked specifically for the Social Welfare Library. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the unit manager, Craig Alderson by or by phone, (510) 642-4432. |
