California Institute for Rural Studies
- CIRS is a non-profit research organization that focuses on farm labor (health, safety, and legal issues), pesticide and water, and rural community studies. Publications available include:
- The Binational Farmworker Health Study: An In-depth Study of Farmworker Health in Mexico and the United States (2001)
- Suffering in Silence: A Report on the Health of California's Agricultural Workers (2001),
the nation's first comprehensive statewide health survey of hired agricultural workers.

California Rural Health Policy Council
- "The mission of the California Rural Health Policy Council is to formulate and establish rural health policy, to provide a focal point for discussion of policy issues within the California Health and Human Services Agency, to receive recommendations from rural
health constituencies, and to improve services provided to rural
health providers. The Council responds to requests from rural providers, assists with recruitment through an employment clearinghouse, assists with funding through a funding clearinghouse on its web site and by awarding rural health grants," and more.

National Center for Farmworker Health
- NCFH provides information services and products to migrant health service centers. It offers a multi-disciplinary training center, newsletters, patient handouts, and other resources for health professionals and farmworker families.
- The Migrant Health Monograph Series consists of ten monographs on migrant health topics, each with a bibliography.
- National Rural Health Association
- "The association provides a forum for the exchange and dissemination of ideas,
information, research and methods to improve rural health."
- Office of Rural
Health Policy (Health Resources and Services Administration, US DHHS)
- "Congress charged the Office with informing and advising the Department of Health and Human Services on matters affecting rural hospitals, and health care, co-ordinating activities within the department that relate to rural health care, and maintaining a national information clearinghouse."

Rural Assistance Center
- "RAC was established in 2002 as a rural health and human services "information portal" to help rural communities and other rural stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding, and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents." The site includes a calendar of events, news items, and funding information. It also includes topical information guides.

Rural Information Center (U.S. Department of Agriculture)
- "RIC provides information and referral services to local, tribal, state, and federal government officials; community organizations; rural electric and telephone cooperatives; libraries; businesses; and citizens working to maintain the vitality of America's rural areas. RIC provides customized information products to specific inquiries including assistance in economic revitalization issues; local government planning projects; funding sources; technical assistance programs; research studies; and other related issues."

Rural Policy Research Institute
- RUPRI "conducts policy-relevant research to assist policymakers in understanding
the rural impacts of public policies and programs". Their program areas are rural
health, rural venture/equity capital, rural telecommunications, and rural welfare reform.

Rural Health Care Delivery: Connecting Communities through Technology
- This report, from the California Healthcare Foundation, provides an overview and case studies of technology tools available to assist health care providers in rural settings. The report helps providers understand what technology tools are available and how they work; the collaborative environment needed to adopt and implement the technology; and funding and reimbursement resources.
