E-PRINTS, PRE-PRINTS and WORKING PAPERS
Use this selected list to locate preprints, e-prints or working papers in astronomy, astrophysics, chemistry, nonlinear science, physics and more. UC Berkeley faculty, registered students, and staff who are off campus may use items marked UCB Only or UC Only by using The Library's proxy service, the VPN or by installing the Connecting@Berkeley CD on their computer. For additional information consult the Physics-Astronomy Library.

PrePrints vs EPrints: what are they and where do you find them?

Preprints are manuscripts intended for publication that have not yet been published but may have been reviewed and accepted for publication; or they may be in the process of being circulated for comment prior to publication. Preprints generated and circulated in electronic forms are known as "e-prints". Many e-prints are electronic versions of research papers that have been submitted for dissemination and review among peers; for publication in journals; or prior to presentation at conferences.
APS - American Physical Society - http://aps.arxiv.org
Access APS preprints via arXiv.org. APS is now providing content using RSS Feeds. (http://feeds.aps.org/) A list of all available feeds along with a set of frequently asked questions is provided on the web site. If you need an RSS reader see: RSS Readers.
arXiv.org - http://arxiv.org
arXiv is an e-print service covering physics, astrophysics, mathematics, non-linear science, computer science, and quantitative biology. arXiv is owned, operated and funded by Cornell University and also partially funded by the National Science Foundation. Use the E-Print Alert Service to automatically receive the latest information posted on arXiv and other related databases.
