How to Find UC Berkeley Theses
The Library receives the original signed copy of every thesis accepted
by the UC Berkeley Graduate Division. These archival copies are housed
in Doe Library; the Library also holds many second copies of theses. All University of California Berkeley theses in the Library collection appear in UCB's catalog, OskiCat, and in the UC catalog, Melvyl. If you do not find the thesis you are looking for in the catalogs, please consult a reference staff member for assistance.
Theses Not Yet Cataloged
Because UC Berkeley theses must be sent for binding and cataloging,
some may not appear in the catalogs until a year after the degree was awarded.
Classification and Circulation Policies
All Joint Medical Program theses are housed in the Doe Library or are
stored off campus at the Northern Regional Library Facility (NRLF), located

weekends.
308t
The archival copies of UC Berkeley theses have been assigned "308t"

may be used within the Library. 308t theses in Doe Library will be
paged upon request at the Circulation Desk.
Library of Congress Classification
The Joint Medical Program theses have been assigned Library of Congress
