The Fong Optometry & Health Sciences Library collection includes over 12,000 volumes of books and journals in the fields of optometry, ophthalmology, and vision science. Within these areas are included anatomy, physiology, neurology, biochemistry, pathology and microbiology of the visual organs of humans and other animals; visual and color perception; ocular pharmacology; occupational and environmental vision; ophthalmic photography; low vision and blindness; history of optometry; and the social, legal, economic, and professional aspects of eye care. Slides, videos, and audiocassettes are also collected. Slides and videos are shelved by call number in their own sections. During periods of high use, circulation periods for slides may be limited. The Health Sciences collection includes textbooks in health and medicine, material on health and medical education, on doing research in health and medicine and selected resources in medical informatics.
