Policy on Renewal of Temporary Library Staff Positions

I.       Temporary, 11 month staff  positions paid on extramural funds may be established at any time with the concurrence of Library Cabinet.  Individuals in those positions may have their service broken and be voluntarily renewed for up to two terms in the same position (ie three 11-month terms maximum).

II.     Temporary, 11 month staff positions paid on 19900 funds may be approved by Cabinet when

  • The position is a temporary bridge only, between career hires, or
  • The work assignment has a finite ending date within eleven months of the creation of the position.
Temporary positions funded by the state may not be filled through the waiver process without Cabinet approval.
