History of Planning Practice Here is a selection
of primary and secondary sources for the study of the history of American planning practice.

National historic planning landmarks. American Institute of
Certified Planners. The AICP National Historic Planning Landmarks award
recognizes pioneering works, used as a precedent for other work, available
for public use and viewing, and a minimum of 25 years old. The awards,
which began in 1986, are usually announced in the April issue of the APA's
Planning
magazine (EnvDesign NA9000 A5). For a cumulative list of planning landmarks, see the latest
edition of the Almanac of architecture and design.
