Researching UCB Buildings and Campus is a guide to finding information about the UC Berkeley campus, individual buildings on the campus, and campus features such as landscaping. Also included are selective bibliographies of books and journal articles about the buildings, architects, plans, and landscape of the Berkeley campus. Most sources and items listed are part of the Environmental Design Library collection, but some archival materials are located in The Environmental Design Archives and The Bancroft Library. The Bancroft Library also houses the University Archives, and has information not available elsewhere regarding campus buildings. The University Archives contains a significant collection of architectural plans, drawings, and blueprints of UCB campus buildings. Maintains a working collection of reduced drawings and plans for campus buildings. For access to the collection, present an official letter from a UCB faculty member stating purpose and need. There is a fee for photocopying. Call in advance for an appointment. NOTE: Contact this office only if the Environmental Design Library, University Archives or other library collections lack needed material.
