EndNote Tips for Engineering Databases:
Importing from Melvyl

Note: If you have the Zotero extension installed on your browser, you will have to disable it first before you import citations from Melvyl.

Single Citation

In Melvyl:

  1. Click into the record of the item you want to export.

  2. Click on the Cite/Export link

  3. Click on Export to EndNote.

  4. A pop-up will prompt you to Open or Save the RIS formatted file. Select Open.

  5. The citation should download and open directly into your EndNote Library.

Multiple Citations

In Melvyl:

  1. You must first register for a free account with WorldCat. Use the Sign in link at the top of the page to create your account.

  2. Sign in.

  3. Check the boxes next to the citations you want to import and save to an existing list, or create a new list.

  4. View your list by going to My WorldCat and My Lists.

  5. Open the list and click on the Citations View tab.

  6. Select the citations you want to import.

  7. Under Export selected citations, click on to EndNote and then Export.

  8. A pop-up will prompt you to Open or Save the RIS formatted file. Select Open.

  9. The citations should download and open directly into your EndNote Library.
