Borrowing Cards - More Info.
To charge out materials, all borrowers must have either a current UC Berkeley student photo ID card, or a current library card issued by the Doe/Moffitt Library Service Desk. UC students, faculty and staff are given service priority and should be prepared to show UC campus identification. Anyone, however, may use the collections while in the library.
Return of Materials - More Info.
Borrowers are responsible for returning items by the due date stamped in the book or stated on a recall notice. Overdue books may result in blocked borrowing privileges, fines, or replacement bills. There is a return chute outside Tolman Hall at the East campus entrance for use when the library is closed.
Searches, Recalls and Holds - More Info.
If a book is neither on the shelf, nor showing as "checked out" on OskiCat, please request assistance at the Circulation Desk. Circulation staff can conduct a trace or search for items which you have been unable to locate. Patrons can view the status of their hols in OskiCat. All books are subject to recall for use by other borrowers. Patrons can place holds on items that are checked out. If you receive a recall notice, please return the book by the date indicated on the notice. Items not received by the new due date may result in blocked borrowing privileges, fines, or replacement bills.
Renewals - More Info.
Unless recalled by another borrower, most materials may be renewed for the same period of time as the original charge. Renewals may be initiated by a patron on OskiCat or by phone. There are time limits on renewals. See Book Renewal Limits above.
Patrons can view their records, manage their holds, and renew their items themselves through OskiCat. To do so, you will need to create a password to use along with your name and library card number. To begin, click on the "My OskiCat" link at the top right corner of the OskiCat homepage.
Course Reserves may be requested at the Circulation Desk. Permanent reserves, located beside the Circulation Desk, may be borrowed for 2 hours, 1 day, or 7 days depending on the book. Faculty wishing to place items on reserve, see Placing Reserves (More Info).
