Folios are large oversized books. This section mainly houses geographical atlases, which are larger in size than similar items in our regular sized book collection. Double folios are designated by two lower case "ff" in front of the call number. The are larger than the single folios which are designated with a single "f" before the call number

This section also housed a complete collection of dissertations from UC Berkeley's Department of Earth and Planetary Science and Department of Geography

Dissertations are shelved by department name, then by author name. They can be located in the online catalogs by searching under personal author or title in the usual manner. Many UCB dissertations can also be located by doing a subject search on the phrase "Dissertations, Academic UCB"
