Want to go way beyond what Google has to offer? While Google is a great resource, the Long Business and Economics Library has nearly a hundred, very expensive databases that are not available via Google. Our research class is designed to show you what professional information tools are available and some tricks that will make your information searches much more effective. Throughout your stay here at Haas, the knowledge that you will acquire in this session will improve your class research assignments and prepare you for conducting a more efficient career search.
These training sessions are held in room 300-T Haas Student Services wing, across the 3rd floor lobby from the Library. To register, please email Gary Peete with the time and date of the class you want to attend in the subject header. Please note that a minimum of five people must sign up one day in advance for these sessions or they will be cancelled. If cancelled, you will be notified by email.
Business Research Databases training dates and times:

The Teaching Library is offering free one-hour classes on how to use Lexis-Nexis Academic, Access World News, Global Newsbank, and other online systems containing full-text news sources. These news sources include newspapers, wire services, magazine and newsletter articles, transcripts of radio and TV broadcasts, press releases and some transcripts of hearings.
Classes are open to all campus users. No sign-up is necessary. All classes are held in room 350-C Moffitt Library. You must show campus identification to gain access to Moffitt Library.
The rapid development of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the navigation software used to search it has opened up rich, new resources of information for the business professional. The Teaching Library offers an ongoing series of Internet Workshops for all members of the campus community who are interested in exploiting this constantly developing resource.
Additional library instruction:
Ongoing training sessions for Pathfinder and CDL are offered throughout the year by the staff of UC Berkeley's Teaching Library. Scheduling information on these sessions is posted in most campus libraries and is available on the Library's World Wide Web homepage.
