Course Reserve Information for Instructors

Requesting or Providing Library Books or Photocopied Materials for Reserve

Please read the instructions below and complete the Online Course Information Form.  Reserve requests should be submitted as soon as possible to allow adequate time for processing. Reserve requests received 1 month before the semester begins will have highest priority.

Important notes if you are providing your own 
materials to be placed on reserve:

• When providing photocopied material, please provide a minimum of five copies for classes of 100. The general rule we follow is 1 copy for every 20 students.
  

• When placing articles, lecture notes, and other loose material on reserve, please provide enough clean manila folders for all copies of the article(s) or groups of articles to be circulated.
  

• Please include the name and telephone number of a person we may contact if there are questions or problems with the materials. 

• Please be advised that we cannot promise immediate processing of reserves. Please allow at least 48 hours for processing.
  

The Bioscience and Natural Resources Library accommodates upper division undergraduate and graduate courses. We do not accept reserves for lower-division courses; please contact the Moffitt Library to set up lower-division course reserves. If you have any questions about placing materials on course reserve, or if you wish to check the status of your course reserve list, please contact Kelly Gordon at 642-2030.

The Copyright Law of the United States governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. In accepting photocopies for reserves the UC Berkeley Library assumes that the copy or copies have been made in compliance with the fair use provisions of section 107.
