ebrary is a collection of nearly 40,000 electronic books in a wide range of subject areas, including many titles related to environmental studies and literature. It contains popular-level books in all categories, as well as some specialized, technical titles. Note: Books are searchable and viewable online; chapters can be downloaded permanently, or the entire book can be downloaded for two weeks.

The electronic version of the five-volume Encyclopedia of Biodiversity; provides in-depth information on all aspects of biodiversity issues worldwide, including social and policy issues.
Literature Resource Center

Oxford English Dictionary (OED)
The accepted authority on the evolution of the English language. Entries contain detailed etymological analyses that trace word development through time and are illustrated by quotations from a wide range of English-language sources.
