The major database for articles published in biomedical journals. Use the link above to see a customized version of PubMed that includes links to the University of California’s full text holdings.

A free open-access repository of full-text scholarly literature in agricultural and applied economics. Includes working papers, conference papers and journal articles.


Business Source Complete
Full text articles from more than 7400 scholarly business journals. Includes management, economics, finance, accounting, and detailed company profiles for top business companies. Updated daily.


Comprehensive index to over 400 economics journals and articles within some "collected" volumes. Includes working papers, some books and dissertations. Indexing of journal articles from 1868-1968 has just been added.


Contains full text and abstracts of news, business, and legal information and provides full-text access to nearly 6,000 individual titles. Users can search foreign and domestic newspapers and wire services; radio and television transcripts; and business, industry, and legislative magazines, journals, and newsletters.

TRID (Transportation Research Information and Documentation)
Coverage of all areas of transportation research, produced and maintained by the Transportation Research Board of the U.S. National Academies. More than 900,000 records of references to books, technical reports, conference proceedings, and journal articles.

Finding Books Online

Numerous books are now available electronically, licensed for use at UCB. Some are included in publisher packages or as special subject collections. See the Bioscience Library's Electronic Books page for full-text collections such as ENVIROnetBASE, Springer E-books, ebrary, and Knovel Library.

Use Google Books to search within the contents of millions of books from publishers and libraries worldwide, then use OskiCat or Melvyl to find out if UCB owns the title. Full text can be displayed if out of copyright (published pre-1923); in-copyright books can be partially viewed as "previews" or "snippets."

Finding Dissertations

DISSERTATIONS & THESES  1861-present; 1997-present for some full text
Provides access to the full text of all dissertations from UC since 1997. The first twenty-four pages from all other dissertations for which images exist online are also available. Also included, with more than 1.5 million entries, is the Dissertation Abstracts International database.
