Course Reserves Info for Students

Reserve books and course readings for upper division courses only are shelved at the Bioscience Library Circulation Desk. Lists of class reserve materials, arranged by instructor's name or course number, are available online from any GLADIS terminal. These materials are marked "Reserve" in the GLADIS catalog record.

Finding Course Reserves

Using GLADIS, UC Berkeley Library's telnet catalog (What is telnet? Special note for Internet Explorer 7 and/or Windows Vista users ), you can look up materials on reserve for your courses. Searches can be done either by course name or instructor's name.The Bioscience and Natural Resources accommodates upper division undergraduate and graduate courses only. We do not accept reserves for lower division courses.

To search by course, type: f co (course abbreviation and/or number)

Common abbreviations used at the Bioscience and Natural Resources Library include:

ENVS = Environmental Science
ESPM = Environmental Science, Policy, and Management
INTB = Integrative Biology
MOLE = Molecular and Cell Biology
NUTR = Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology
PLAB = Plant and Microbial Biology

example: f co MOLE 160
Type "help abbrev" or "help course" on GLADIS for additional help.
To search by instructor's name type: f in (instructor's name)

Usually a last name alone works best.
example: f in Feldman

Please bring the call number of the reserve item you want to the desk so we can retrieve it for you. If you find nothing in GLADIS, the class has no readings available yet.
