Jody Bussell and Sheila Wekselbaum Graduate from the Leadership Development Program
Jody Bussell and Sheila Wekselbaum are the Library’s latest graduates of the campus’ Leadership Development Program (LDP). The 2003-2004 Program included readings and group discussions on leadership, campus speakers, facilitated group activities, career counseling, and leadership assessments from their supervisors and co-workers. This year’s Program was completed in 10 months, but next year’s Program will revert to 12 months in order to better accommodate the amount of time and work involved.
Jody and Sheila both worked on one of the three projects assigned to the Program. Their project was Policy Access: Campus Needs and Best Practices. The project focused on how policy is developed in many areas on the Berkeley campus, by whom, for whom, and how it is disseminated and maintained. Their final report was presented to Jim Hyatt, Vice Chancellor for Budget and Finance (the project’s sponsor); the other LPD members and their supervisors; the campus Controls Initiative Advisory Committee; and it will be presented to the Vice Chancellor’s Administrative Council on February 19th.
