Exhibit: Morrison Library's 75th Anniversary The exhibit now in place in the Brown Gallery celebrates the early history of the campus and the 75th anniversary of the dedication of the Morrison Library. Dedicated in February 1928, the Morrison Library was made possible through the philanthorpy of May Treat Morrison (1858-1939), widow of San Francisco attorney and book lover, Alexander F. Morrison (1856-1921). Both Mr. and Mrs. Morrison were graduates of the UCB class of 1878 and maintained a lifelong interest in the University and its students.
The exhibit is a great example of collaborative efforts of different Library departments joining together to achieve a shared vision. In this instance, Wendy Hanson and David Duer of the Library Development Office and Imani Abalos and Alex Warren of RRC worked on the project. All the credit for the for the very striking poster goes to Mary Scott of the Graphics Office. I'm not certain if I can adequately give enough praise to Cathy Dinnean for all the work she does setting up the Brown Gallery exhibits. She truly works wonders.
The Library is very lucky to have two such talented staff members working in the Graphics Office. Special thanks to Wendy and David for assembling, framing, and hanging the photographs of the campus. I hope you will all take a few minutes out of your day to stop and see the exhibit. Alex Warren
