New Editor at CU News

After a too-brief tenure, Pam Daniels has relinquished the editorship of CU News, so she can dedicate more time to other projects. Effective with this issue, Lori Foster, of the Librarian's Office, will take over the job.

Thank you, Pam, and I hope I can fill your shoes.

Changes in the Teaching Library

HELLO/GOODBYE

The Teaching Library is very pleased to announce that Tim Dilworth has joined us as a Program Coordinator beginning December 11th of this year. Tim comes to us from Reference and Information Services, where he was the PC expert and CD-ROM guru, and designed and maintained a number of web pages for selectors and for the Information Center. His programming skills include C and PERL, and he's conversant with Adobe Photoshop.

Tim has a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing from Northwestern University, and has pursued some postgraduate course work here at UC Berkeley. In addition, he earned a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the Royal Society of the Arts in Barcelona, Spain. In his past life, he's been a social worker in London, and he has taught English as a Foreign Language to adults and children in Barcelona. Tim loves teaching, and is excited about his new opportunities to work with students and the public. His job in the Teaching Library will allow him to grow in these directions. Welcome, Tim!

On a sadder note (for us), we say farewell to Rebecca Corral, our wonderful administrative assistant, who will be leaving us in early January to devote her full attention to her family, and especially new baby, Maya, and to pursue educational pursuits. We wish her all the best, and thank her for her terrific service to the Teaching Library during her stint here. Good luck, Rebecca.

New Reference Specialist in Environmental Design Archive

The Environmental Design Archives welcomes new Reference Specialist Carrie McDade. Carrie comes to the College of Environmental Design from Kansas City, Missouri, where she previously worked as the Project Assistant in the Department of American Art at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Concurrent with her work at the Nelson, Carrie completed the coursework for her Master's degree in art history. Her thesis is a study of 20 stained glass windows designed by American John La Farge (1835-1910) for the B'Nai Jehudah congregation in Kansas City. She expects to receive her degree this coming spring. She can be reached at cmcdade@uclink.berkeley.edu.
