The Artists’ Exhibition Catalog Collection (AECC) is comprised of approximately 5,000 minor exhibition catalogs and pamphlets for 3,331 individual artists published 1918-2004, with emphasis on the 1950s-1970s. The AECC was stored in vertical files housed in the Art History-Classics Library circa 1979-1996.
One of the interesting features of the collection is the artist portraits that can be found in many of the catalogs, especially from the 1960s and 1970s. These black and white photographs were generally taken at the same time of the exhibit. Many of the images reveal the artist’s personality as can be seen from the examples on the following page. Artist’s names are available by rolling your mouse over the portrait.
