Bioscience Library Closed May 12 - June 10
The Marian Koshland Bioscience and Natural Resources Library will be closed from May 12th through June 10th, 2012, due to construction related to the Biology Lab Project. We expect to reopen on June 11th. We will be unable to page any materials, but books can be returned at any time in the book-return drop located on the south side of VLSB (lower level).
To request that materials be placed on course reserve, please use our Course Reserves Form. Other requests may be sent to Norma Kobzina or Elliott Smith at bios@library.berkeley.edu.
We apologize for the inconvenience but are looking forward to seeing you in our renovated library.
Norma Kobzina, Interim Head

The regular Summer Session hours are scheduled to begin Monday, June 11.

VLSB Computer Lab Closed Temporarily
The VLSB Microcomputer Facility will remain closed for all of Spring Semester. The closure is required because of the Biology Lab Project construction and the relocation of the microcomputer facility to the northeast area of the Bioscience Library.
Other microcomputer facilities are located in Moffitt and Wheeler; please check the General Access Lab Hours page for the most current information.

Biology Lab Project Construction
The Biology Lab Project, begun in January 2012, will have a significant effect on the Marian Koshland Bioscience and Natural Resources Library. The Project will involve the building of two Bio 1 labs in space that is currently occupied by the Bioscience Library, and the relocation of the library's existing training room and microcomputer facility.
The project will have two phases and is expected to last until August 2012. While the project is taking place, the VLSB Microcomputer Facility will be closed. The library will have a reduced number of public PCs, and will not have a training room or (after April 16) new journal display area. We will be holding our bibliographic instruction sessions in other rooms in VLSB and Moffitt Library, and in individual classrooms.
